Eilish McColgan is a Scottish middle-distance runner who has represented Great Britain at the 2012, 2016 and 2020 Olympic Games. She also represented Scotland at the Commonwealth Games in 2014, 2018 and at the 2022 Games in Birmingham, where she claimed her first major title with victory in the 10,000m before finishing 2nd in the 5,000m.

Other career highlights on Eilish's impressive CV include a silver medal for the 5000m at the 2018 European Athletics Championships and a silver medal at the European Indoor Championships over 3,000m. She currently holds the British records for the 5km, 10km and half-marathon, as well as Scottish National Records for the 10,000m and 10 miles.

The daughter of famous athletes, Liz and Peter McColgan, Eilish is coached by her mother, who is a former Olympic silver medalist and 10,000m World Champion.

Outside of sport, Eilish studied mathematics and accountancy at University of Dundee before embarking on a full-time career as an athlete in 2012.
