Ruth's work ethic, ability and success in the Age Group ranks of triathlon meant it was only a matter of time before she turned professional.

Ruth turned pro after enjoying a successful Age Group career whilst holding down a full-time job in financial services in London. Ruth won numerous titles and was the overall Age Group winner at the IRONMAN World Championships in Hawaii in 2019 before she turned pro in 2020. Ruth then won her first pro race at the Outlaw Half in Nottingham in 2021, before claiming her maiden IRONMAN victory as a pro against a stacked field at IM Mallorca.

She discovered Precision Hydration in 2015 after a friend recommended the brand to her and she's been a part of Team PH ever since. Ruth uses PH 500 for most training, although sometimes PH 1000 is needed for harder track sessions. Depending on where in the world the race is, Ruth will tinker with her hydration strategy, although she always preloads with PH 1500 when competing in the heat of Hawaii.

Ruth still works two days a week for Lloyds Banking Group and is also a keen cook.
