Mathias Petersen

Mathias is a Danish triathlete who focuses on half and full distance races.

Mathias started his triathlon career during short distance draft legal triathlon and spend some time on the national team between 2014-2017, before moving to the longer distances. He set a new Danish record in his first full distance race in 2019, having won the Danish half distance championship in both 2018 and 2019. He then won his first IRONMAN® in Austria in 2023.

Mathias discovered PF&H at the 2023 World Championship in France after reaching out for some help with his race nutrition. After helping him fuel his successful 2024 season, he officially joined the team in 2025.

Mathias isn't a very salty sweater, losing 409mg of sodium per litre of of sweat, and so he uses PH 500 electrolytes for training and racing. To meet the fueling demands of racing and training, his favorite products are the PF 30 Gels, PF 30 Chews and PF Carb & Electrolyte Drink Mix.

Away from the sport, Mathias has a master's degree in Public Health from the University of Southern Denmark.
