Louise Small

Elite marathon runner

Louise began running at the age of thirteen, developing a passion for cross country before joining her local athletics club. Her talent quickly emerged, and at fifteen, she earned her first international vest for Great Britain, competing in the 1,500m at the 2007 World Youth Games in Ostrava. Over the years, she has proudly represented Great Britain on 13 occasions.

In 2019, Louise suffered a career-ending injury, tearing her achilles. After many hours of rehabilitation, she transitioned to the marathon, where she has since found success, improving her time from 2:41 to 2:29 and setting her sights on even faster performances.

Louise was first introduced to Precision Fuel & Hydration through her HOKA Athlete Manager, after a disappointing finish at the 2022 Frankfurt Marathon. Precision provided expert guidance, helping her refine her nutrition strategy and offered advice on racing in the heat - insights that Louise says have played a key role in her marathon progression.

Beyond her athletic achievements, Louise is also a qualified athletics coach and a dedicated primary school teacher, passionate about inspiring others to find their purpose and push outside of their comfort zone.

I'd struggled in the heat in the past, but Precision Fuel & Hydration have helped me fuel more effectively. That's been a big reason why I've taken my marathon PB time from 2:41 to 2:29 in just two years.
