After many upset stomachs trying to hit my carb quota while on hard rides I scoured the internet for a better solution and have been impressed with the taste, ease if digestion and great performance improvements I've been able to achieve by deploying a combination of energy mix, gels and chews on road rides! Why did I order Precision Sodium again? I run trails all year round, and it turns out that a lot of races are very hot. Of course, I do heat acclimatization, but I’ve realized this year that I simply can't do without sodium. I notice that with sodium supplementation, I don't get headaches during the race and can keep pushing hard even after ten hours. Plus, I like that Precision makes it so easy to adjust the dosage. Let's start with the main bit...the gels. I'm not a gel person. Over the years I have developed my own concoctions (yes, Jaffa cakes with salt is a thing). As an ultra runner I have always found it manageable to make my own food and get enough energy. Training for an Ironman things got a bit tougher.
