Anthony Costales

Pro Ultrarunner

Anthony Costales is a professional trail ultrarunner based in Salt Lake City, Utah, specialising in the 50K to 100-mile distances. Before moving to the trails, Anthony competed at Chico State University, running both track and cross country. Following college, he transitioned to road racing, finding success in the marathon by qualifying for the U.S. Olympic Trials in 2016 and 2020, and placing 4th at the 2017 USATF Marathon Championships.

By 2020, Anthony fully transitioned to ultra trail running. Since then, he has earned Golden Ticket victories at Canyons 100K and Black Canyon 100K, and finished 3rd at the Western States 100. He continues to pursue goals of becoming a top contender at CCC at UTMB, the World Trail Championships, and returning to Western States 100.

Anthony discovered Precision Fuel & Hydration through friends in the Salt Lake City running community and later witnessed the PF&H sports science team in action while crewing and pacing Caleb Olson's win at the Western States 100. His favourite products include the PF 90 Gel, PF 30 Caffeine Gel, and Electrolyte Capsules.

Outside of running, Anthony enjoys spending time with his wife Katie, their 5-year-old daughter Piper, and their cattle dog Brighton. As a family, they love camping together in the Utah desert with their small trailer.

Precision Fuel & Hydration’s clear, easy-to-read packaging and variety of sizes have made it simple for me to track my nutrition during long runs. The quality of the product allows me to take in more fuel while feeling like I’m carrying less!
